Le Velo is a multi-purpose space that accommodates a café, bar and exhibition display area. The large windows and double height voids of the existing space provided a perfect blank canvas for this project. The café and bar are located on the ground floor in order to allow them to connect to the outdoor dining area. Up the staircase, there is extra dining areas plus the exhibition space that can also be utilised for other future purposes. This mezzanine space opens up to the double height void where the scale of the interior can be appreciated. To transition to night activities the lighting can be activated to create a moody and intimate dining experience. As part of the brief, textural and raw materials were utilised which presents a layered and nuanced consistency throughout the space.
